Our new 30 x 48 greenhouse was completed in the Fall of 2022 and saw its first season of use this year.  The primary purpose of the greenhouse is to propagate seedlings for on farm use, both for LaFarm and for community gardeners, replacing the small but well-loved greenhouse we previously used on the side of Kunkel (no longer there).  In the later part of the season, the greenhouse also serves as a space for curing and drying crops like garlic, onions, and winter squash.  Finally, it allows the farm to now host classes and groups rain or shine.

One of the most exciting things we did with our new greenhouse was our Spring Plant Sale.  After stuffing mailboxes in the surrounding neighborhoods, we had many visitors for the community who had never been to the farm before.  We sold garden vegetables, flowers, herbs, and a few trees at a pay what you wish rate, and whatever was leftover we either donated or planted ourselves.  We plan to make the plant sale an annual event at LaFarm.
